5 slices bacon
8 ounces Italian sausage links, sliced
1 1/2 pounds chuck steak, diced
1 small green pepper
2 medium onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 dried red chili peppers, seeded or crumbled
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 12 ounce can tomato paste
1 16 ounce can pinto beans, drained
1 16 ounce can garbanzo beans, drained
2 1/2 cups water

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon, drain, crumble and set aside.
Brown sausage, drain and set aside.
Use 2 tablespoons drippings from sausage to cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until beef is brown. Add remaining peppers, the seasonings, bacon and sausage. Stir in water and tomato paste.
Bring to a boiling point, reduce heat and simmer covered for 30minutes more.
Makes 2 quarts.

I have substituted ground beef for the chuck steak and it turned out fine. This is a pretty hot chili, so you can cut back on the amounts of hot peppers.
