Directions:Melt butter and other sauce ingredients bring to a boil then turn down and simmer another minute. Add dry ingredients to a very large tub, laundry basket size. Pour sauce over this and stir in gently so as not to crush cereal too much. Bake in batches at 250º for 1 hour. Stirring every 15 minutes to crisp. This is where double ovens come in handy! We store this in a large covered platic red tub that sits on the kitchen bench for easy access! |

Notes: We live on this stuff during the holidays! This makes 13lbs. of Chex Mix and it's always gone by New Years! Note: In later years, after the kids grew and left home, we have a Chex Mix pitch-in, where they drop off their favorite or unique snack addition, to be added to the giant mix. We've had some funny contributions! As of this 2025 cookbook reprint, we are up to over 20 lbs. of mix now . Enough for our 11 kids, spouses, and 28 grandchildren. I gift each family their own bag or container with "free refills".
