1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp fresh ginger grated
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 container (pt size) or 2 cups strawberries hulled and cut in half
1 1/2 lb fresh rhubarb-trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
about 4 1/2 cups or 1 pkg frozen rhubarb cut
2 T butter or margarine
1 large egg beaten with 2 tsp water for top of pie crust
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
COMBINE SUGAR -FLOUR-GINGER-SALT-MIX WELL

**Preheat oven to 400º
>Mix together -sugar, flour ginger, salt-mix well
>Add strawberries, and rhubarb.
>Put filling into prepared pie crust, mound filling in center, dot with butter.
>Roll remaining dough and cut into strips, twist four strips and arrange crosswise over filling, pressing ends to pastry rim. Twist remaining strips and place lengthwise across filling.
>Brush top with egg mixture.
>Place on shallow baking pan.
>Bake 50-60 minutes, may take longer. Bake until brown and juice is running.
