Ingredients:  
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tsp yeast
3/4 cup sugar
1 teas shortening
4 cups flour
butter & salt

Directions:
Directions:
Activate yeast in warm water. Add sugar, shortening and flour. Let dough rise for 30 min. Roll out pieces of dough in long ropes and twist into a pretzel. Butter and bake at 375º for 15-20 min. Butter pretzels and sprinkle with salt.
