1 ½ cups flour
½ cup cocoa
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda

1 cup sugar
½ cup butter or oleo
1 egg
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla

1 10 0z jar maraschino cherries
1 6 oz pkg chocolate chips
½ cup Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk

Mix dry ingredients together. Beat sugar, butter until fluffy, add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients. Shape dough into 1 “balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center of dough with thumb. Drain cherries, reserving juice. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie. In small saucepan, combine milk and chocolate chips, heat until chocolate is melted. Stir in 4 teaspoons of cherry juice. Spoon about 1 tsp over each cherry. Spread to cover the cherry. Bake in 400 degree oven about 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
