Combine and sift together into a bowl
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
Add 1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. cold water
1 tsp vanilla
Blend well

Pour batter into 2 greased 8 in. layer cake pans. Bake at 350º for about 30 min.
