1 pound brown sugar
½ pound butter
3 eggs
1 cup chopped black walnuts
1 teaspoon baking soda, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water
Flour to stiffen, about 4½ cups

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Shape into a long roll, the width of which will determine the size of cookies. Wrap in wax paper and chill overnight. Slice very thin and bake 5 - 6 minutes at 400 degrees.
