Dough:
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 small cake yeast
5 c. flour

Filling - double batch:
2 to 3 c. more sugar
6 eggs
1 can of milk
2 sticks butter
5 lbs. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk until scalded, add shortening, sugar, and salt. Cool until lukewarm. Add yeast and eggs. Stir until dissolved. Add all flour, mix well and knead with hands. Let rise 2 hours or until 3 times the size. Punch down, raise again and then roll.
Make the filling by putting 2 c. sugar, eggs, can milk, and butter in a pot and dissolving on medium heat. Then add nuts and rest of sugar to taste.
