Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 bar soap (Fels Naptha, Dial or your choice)
1 cup borax
1 cup washing (not baking) soda

Directions:
Directions:
Use a grater to shave soap into a medium pot. Add 8 cups of hot water, heat to medium, stirring until soap is dissolved and water is boiling. Stir in 1 cup box and 1 cup washing soda. Return to boiling and remove from heat. Let mixture set for a few minutes to cool before using a funnel to divide it between two 1-gallon size containers (128oz=1gal). Once divided, fill remaining space in each container with water and gently shake to mix. It thickens as it sits and can become quite solid so when you use just give it a good shake to remix. A few small lumps are ok, they dissolve in the wash. Use approximately 1/2 cup for non-HE washing machine.
