2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. whipping cream
6 tbsp. butter (not margarine)
1/4 tsp. vanilla (or maple flavoring)
1 1/2 c. icing sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans (or walnuts), optional

Directions:
Directions:
Combine brown sugar, whipping cream and butter in large, heavy saucepan. Heat and stir until boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Add vanilla, icing sugar, and pecans (if using). Mix. Spread in ungreased 8" x 8" pan. Cool to room temperature. Cut into 36 pieces
