"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 egg slightly beaten
1 5 oz can evaporated milk
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 pound ground beef

Sauce
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Add the ground beef and mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls and place in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, drain grease.

Prepare the sauce by bringing all ingredients to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour over the meatballs and bake for 12 more minutes. I like to half again or even double the sauce because it is so good. OR you can make the meat mixture into a meat loaf & pour the sauce over right at first & bake until done.
