1 head cabbage

Sauce: ½ cup tomato paste; 1 can tomato; 1 cup pitted prunes; ½ cup raisins; 3 apples--peeled, sliced; 4 carrots—peeled, chopped; 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper

Filling: 1 lb ground beef; 2 cups cooked rice; ½ cup breadcrumbs; 1 egg
1 tsp salt; tsp pepper

Topping: ¼ tsp lemon juice; 2 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:
Fill cabbage rolls with meat, rice, bread crumbs, eggs and seasoning mixture. Layer rolls in casserole dish. To prepare sauce, combine tomato paste and other ingredients. Spread sauce over cabbage rolls. Simmer very slowly (300° oven). After 2 hours, mix lemon juice and brown sugar. Pour over cabbage rolls. Finish baking, approximately 4 hours in total.
