340 g self raising flour
2 eggs
A good pinch of salt
225 g margarine
4 Large good cooking apples
225 g sugar(light brown or demerara
A good pinch of mixed spice


Mix well all dry ingredients and margarine, peel and grate apples on =
large grater and add to mixture, beat eggs with a little milk and add to =
mixture, beat to a fairly loose mixture, cook in oven 400f, gas mark 6. =
200c until golden brown, serve hot or cold with cream or custard. =20
