2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter or lard, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
3-1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter and brown sugar. Add eggs. Gradually add all other ingredients and mix well. Roll into a log and wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for several hours.

Slice and bake at 350 F. for 10-12 minutes.
