Directions:
Wash chicken carefully removing skin. Add to pot with other ingredients and bring to a simmer skimming off foam. DO NOT STIR. (That will cloud soup.) Meanwhile, make pastina. Strain soup into another pot. Chop chicken into bite size pieces. To serve scoop 1/2 c. pastina into bowl. Ladle on hot soup. Garnish with chicken and grated Parmesan cheese. Feel better.

Personal Notes:
Zizi was my father's tenant for over 30 years and owned The Miramar on Prince St. and Northern Blvd. in Flushing, Queens, NY for many years. Zizi was a wonderful culinary grandmother to us. Mrs. Montalbano always made up this soup when we were ill. She strained all the greens out giving us just the pastina and broth with just a little chicken in it. God Bless Zizi.
