2 (1 oz) bottles red food coloring
Mix into 3 T Nestlé's Milk Cocoa (set aside)

1/2 C Crisco
1-1/2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 C Buttermilk
2-1/4 C Cake flour (sifted 3 times with scant tsp salt)
1 tsp Vanilla
1 T Vinegar
1 tsp Soda

Icing:
1 Stick of butter
8 T Crisco
1 C sugar
3 T regular flour
2/3 C milk (room temperature)
1 tsp Butter flavoring

Use Mixer:
Cream Crisco with sugar. Add eggs and coloring paste. (Beat a long time) Mix and then add 1 cup buttermilk and cake flour (Don't forget to sift flour 3 times with salt)
Add vanilla. Mix. Remove from mixer and stir by spoon vinegar and soda. Put in separately. Mix by hand. Bake in greased and floured three 8" pans, or sheetcake pan at 350º for 30 - 35 minutes

Icing:
Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar then add flour (One spoon at a time)
add about 2/3 cups of milk and flavoring. MILK MUST BE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.
Beat in mixer a long, long time
