1 (4 lb.) eye of round roast
1 tsp. salt
Sauce:
3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. white vinegar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
2 T. Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Place roast in a Dutch oven and sprinkle with salt. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 2 hours. Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients and bring to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. When meat is done, skim fat from juices and shred meat with 2 forks; combine with sauce. Serve on sandwich buns with pickles and extra barbecue sauce if desired.

This recipe can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator up to 2 days. It can also be prepared in a slow cooker.
