3 c. all-purpose flour (1 -1/2 cups)
1/2 c. sugar (1/4 cup)
5 tsp. baking powder (2 -1/2 tsp.)
1/2 tsp. salt (1/4 tsp.)
3/4 c. butter (6 tbsp.)
1 egg beaten
1 c. milk (1/2 cup)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º. Lightly grease cookie
sheet.
2. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients.
3. Cut in butter.
4. In a small bowl, mix egg and milk. Stir into
flour mixture until moistened.
5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and
knead briefly.
6. Roll dough out into 1/2" thick round shape
7. Cut into 8 wedges and place on prepared
cookie sheet.
8. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Variations:
* Add tsp. cinnamon, raisins, almonds, or 1/2 cup chocolate chips
* Instead of 1 cup milk, add 1/2 cup fresh orange juice, 1/3 cup milk, and dried cranberries. Glaze with a glaze of orange juice and powdered sugar
