1/4 cup dry yeast
1 qt. warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup dry milk
2 qt. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbs. salt
1 cup shortening

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix yeast, water and sugar and let stand for 1 minute.
2. Sift dry milk, flour, baking powder and salt together.
3. Cut shortening into mixture and add liquid. Add enough flour until mixture pulls away from side of bowl.
4. Place on floured pastry sheet and knead until smooth and elastic.
5. Roll 1/2 in. thick and cut into rounds. Place in greased pans, brush with butter.
6. Bake at 450º F.15 minutes (or bake at 350º F).
