Ingredients: Utensils: Broiling pan with rack Aluminum foil Chef’s knife Cooking pliers 1 medium size salmon or, 2 medium size halves of a Pacific salmon which means it will probably be either a Coho or a Humpback which are the two smaller of the five species enough water to fill the broiling pan to the bottom of broiling pan rack salt & pepper other spices such as basil, thyme, and garlic may be used

Directions:If you use a whole salmon you will need to filet it first which means you will start by removing the head and fins. Then, starting at the tail end remove the bones. You should be able to remove the entire bone structure in one piece. If not, you will need the cooking pliers to remove any bones that are left in the fish. These are found by running your fingertips up and down the spine area of the fish. Cut the two halves into fillet pieces. Salt & pepper each piece. Add garlic and any other desired spices to each piece. Put them on the broiling rack in the broiling pan. Put water in the bottom of the pan. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 425 degrees , or 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees. Either way, preheat your oven. Or broil for 20-30 minutes. If broiling the salmon cover with aluminum foil. If you wish to microwave the salmon, you will need to cover the broiling pan with plastic wrap rather than aluminum and place the fish pieces in a half inch of water cooking the pieces for 10-12 minutes flipping the pieces at about the 7-8 minute mark and then finish the cooking of the fish pieces |
