Notes: I am sometimes lazy in the kitchen and opt for the quick method. I often use a frozen 1 kg. bag. Quite by accident, I grabbed what I thought was a frozen bag of turnip from the freezer only to find out it was squash. So, I decided to give it a try. Like they say the rest is history & I have never gone back to making it with turnip. I buy the precut squash you can get the produce department rather than the frozen because I was having a hard time finding it. I got this recipe from my late Mom many years ago. She would listen to the talk shows on 1010 CFRB particularly to Paul & Kathy Mott. They were a husband & wife team & on Thanksgiving Kathy gave this recipe over the radio. My Mom took it down in shorthand at the time & then typed it up later. This recipe usually gets made for Thanksgiving and brings back good memories.
