1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup raisins
1/2 up shortening
2 tsp. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup cold water
1 tsp.baking soda
2 cups flour
3/4 ups chopped nuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Grease an 8x8 pan.

Combine first eight ingredients and allow to come to a boil. Let mixture get cool but not cold. Combine flour and baking soda. Fold into raisin-spice mixture. Add nuts. Bake for 1 hour
