¼ c. vegetable oil
2 lb. stew meat, cut in chunks
1 small onion, minced
1 tbsp. salt
¼ tsp. basil
¼ tsp. pepper
4 small potatoes, cubed
½ small head cabbage, shredded
1 10 oz. package frozen peas
1 10 oz. package cut green beans
1 16 oz. can tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
In a Dutch oven over medium heat, in hot oil, brown meat and onion. Add 8 cups hot water, salt, basil and pepper. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 1 hour. Add potatoes and cabbage; simmer covered 10 minutes. Add peas, beans, tomatoes and 1 teaspoon salt; simmer 20 minutes. Serves 8
