MERINGUE
4 egg whites
1/2 lb sugar

ROGEL CAKE
2 tsp butter
3 egg yolks
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
.45 lb flour
1 tsp water
1/2 tsp cooking alcohol
Dulce de leche (caramel sauce) (you can buy La Salamandra at Market Basket or Sancor or San Ignacio at Super Supermarket in Haledon)

MERINGUE
Combine egg whites and sugar in a pan
Stir over low heat while they warm up (until you don't feel the sugar anymore; should not be very hot)
Pour the mixture in a large bowl and mix until it becomes meringue

ROGEL CAKE
In a large bowl, mix the butter with the eggs
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and flour, then add to the egg mixture
Add water and alcohol
Mix the batter (if it is too sticky, add a little flour)
Make 6 balls and stretch them with a rolling pin on a table with flour
Cook each disk in medium oven, until each side is cooked (about 5 minutes)

ASSEMBLY
Put a disk on a plate and then spread dulce de leche; repeat for 5 layers
Spread meringue on top of the last layer
