medium size pickles, sliced 1/4" thick
8 heads fresh dill OR 16 t. dill sd
4 C. sugar
4 C. vinegar
2 C. water
1/4 C. pickling salt
4 thick slices of onion
8 cloves garlic

Directions:
Directions:
In a large kettle, bring sugar, vinegar, water and salt to a boil. Put 2 heads of dill or
2 t. dill seed and 2 cloves of garlic, into the bottom of 4 sterilized quart jars. Pack pickle slices into jars until 1" from the top. Pour liquid over pickle slices to cover. Wipe rims of jars with clean cloth and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

I also us this recipe for pickled garlic. Fill pint jars with peeled garlic cloves, and cover with the liquid. I omit the onion slice.
