Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 cups (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels (chips) - I use the miniature ones 1 cup chopped nuts (optional - I never exercise this option; nuts just don't belong in my opinion, but if your taste buds are calling out for them, indulge!)

Directions:Preheat oven to 375º F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated/brown sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet(s). Bake for 9-11 minutes (Start with lowest time to test oven, then gradually add more time. These cookies are best when slightly underdone so they remain soft.) Let stand for 2 minutes (if you can stand the wait); remove the wire racks to cool completely. |
