2 pounds butter
3 1/2 pounds (7 cups) sugar
12 eggs
1 pound, 6 ounces (6 cups) all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups pecans (or more if you like)
5 1/2 ounces (1 cup) cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour five 13 x 9 pans.

Cream together butter and sugar. Beat well until very light and creamy. Add eggs and continue to cream until well-mixed. Mix flour, cocoa and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Set mixer on low speed and mix thoroughly. Do not overbeat the mixture after the flour has been added.

Fold in pecans and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 350º until done, about 30 minutes.
