Ingredients: Flour - 6 cups Active Dry Yeast - 4 tsp Sugar - 2 tsp Salt - 1 tsp Dry Oregano - To taste Vegetable or Olive Oil - 1/4 cup Hot Water - 2 cups

Directions:Place the yeast on the bottom of the mixing bowl. Add flour, sugar, salt and oregano to the bowl. Add hot water and oil to the bowl. Mix until it comes together in a smooth ball. A mixer with a kneading hook makes the process easier. Remove the dough on to a floured counter-top.
You will want to knead the dough by hand using a knead and fold technique. Knead until it becomes smooth and somewhat elastic. It should have a silky smooth skin on the outside. This dough will be more tender than a typical dough but you must still be able to form it into a pizza shape.
Divide the dough into three even pieces and form into balls. Let it rise until doubled (usually about an hour). Form each dough ball into a pizza pan or onto a pizza stone. Each piece should make a 14-16 inch pie. |

Notes: This recipe differs from other crust recipes in a couple of ways. 1. I use hot tap water but insulate the yeast from the water with the flour. This heats the flour and helps with the rising. 2. The oil makes this a very tender dough. 3. The addition of oregano or Italian seasoning adds a nice flavor to the crust.
