1 cup butter
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
3 cups oatmeal
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and salt.
Mix flour and oatmeal together.
Add soda dissolved in water - alternating with flour and oatmeal mixture - to the butter, sugars, and salt mixture.
Add the vanilla.

Make small balls the size of walnuts on greased cookie sheet. Dip fork in hot water and press balls very thin.

Bake at 350 until golden brown. Remove from pan while hot.
