1 beaten egg
2/3 c. milk
1 1/4 c. flour
2 T. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
a pinch of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat 2 inches of cooking oil in deep skillet at 375º.
Mix together all ingredients. Using a funnel, pour approximately 1/2 c. of batter into the funnel, holding your finger over the hole and 1-in. over pan, pour batter into circular design. Let it brown and turn once. Remove from oil, drain, and serve hot with powdered or brown sugar or maple syrup.
