1 pkg. yeast
1 ˝ C warm water
1 C unseasoned lukewarm mashed potatoes
1/3 C sugar
2/3 C shortening
2 eggs
1 ˝ tsp. salt
6-7 C flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
2. Stir in potatoes, sugar, shortening, eggs, salt, and 3 cups of flour.
3. Beat until smooth, and then add enough flour…
4. Knead till smooth. Place in greased bowl.
5. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

For doughnuts or brown-and-serve:
1. Shape and let rise 1 hour.
2. Heat oven to 275˚.
3. Bake for 20 minutes. Do not brown.
4. Remove from pans and cool to room temperature.
5. Wrap in foil. Store in refrigerator.
6. Bake in 400˚ oven for 8-12 minutes.
