4 c flour
6 tsp baking powder
1 1/3 c milk
4-8 T sugar
12-16 T shortening
2 tsp salt
6-8 apples, peeled, cored and
quartered

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening and blend until resembles corn meal. Add milk and stir until soft and flour disappears. Roll out to 1/4" thick and cut into squares. Place 1 apple section into each square and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over apple. Wrap dough around apple and seal edges with water. Pierce each dumpling with a fork 2-3 times. Place in a 13 x 9" pan and bake 40 minutes.
