1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, egg and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Form into balls the size of walnuts. Dip top in water then in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Press down center with fingers. Bake at 425 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
