2 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1 cup Shortening
1 Egg Yolk (beaten)
2/3 cup Milk
1 cup Corn Flakes
5 large Apples (sliced)
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 Egg White

Glaze:
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Warm Water (as needed)

Directions:

Mix flour, salt, shortening as for a pie crust. Combine beaten egg yolk and milk. Mix together and divide dough in half. Roll out half of the dough to about 17x12 so it fits onto a greased cookie sheet. Build up the the side of pan. Sprinkle with corn flakes. Top with apple slices. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Toll out the remaining dough and place over the top of apples. Moisten edges with milk or water as you put top dough over. Beat egg white stiff and brush over top crust. Poke some holes in the top crust and bake at 350º for one hour. While baking, mix together glaze ingredients. Drizzle with glaze while still warm.

Optional: raisins and nuts can be added to filling.
