2 cups long grain rice, uncooked
1 1/2 oz onion soup mix (1 pkg)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soya sauce
boiling water
10 oz can sliced mushrooms
3 green onions, chopped
Other preferred vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, peppers, celery)
Optional: Add preferred meat (beef, chicken, pork)

Directions:

Pour the rice into a 2-quart greased casserole dish.
In a 4-cup measuring cup, combine the onion soup mix, oil and soya sauce. Add enough boiling water to make 4 cups.
Pour the liquid over the rice, add the drained mushrooms and green onions and any other vegetables or meat and stir lightly with a fork.
Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.
