4 cups of brown sugar, 1T vanilla
1 cup oleo, 1 tsp salt
4 eggs, 1 T baking soda
6 to 6-1/2 cups flour, 1 T cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve baking soda and cream of tartar in 1T hot water. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream sugar, oleo, eggs and vanilla..
Add baking soda mixture and flour. Blend thoroughly.
Make into long rolls wrapping in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Slice, place on cookie sheet and bake at 375º 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly
browned.*

* I use air bake cookie sheets, and I under bake a little. I let them cool on
baking sheets for a minute, before removing them from sheet. You can
experiment and find what works best for you. The cookie will stay soft and
chewy.
