1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
1 c. white sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 egg
4 tsp. cinnamon
additional sugar and cinnamon, mixed, for dusting

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º.

Combine sour cream and baking soda in small bowl. Mix in egg. Add cinnamon

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt in another bowl.

Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

Gently stir egg mixture into flour mixture until moistened.

Knead dough briefly -- no more than 10 times.

Divide dough into two. Place each piece on baking sheet and pat into 3/4-inch thickness. Cut each round into 6 wedge-shaped pieces. Move scones several inches apart so they are not touching. Dust with a sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Bake 15-20 minutes.
