"The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found."--Calvin Trillin

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
These recipes are written in my mother's own handwriting in a little recipe book she kept for years. She loved to write in the margins of cookbooks, as she'd been taught as a child *not* to write in books. "Best I ever ate! And easy!" are her notes on this one. They are written the way she spoke. I would give anything to hear her beautiful, Southern drawl again! For those who knew her - wouldn't y'all, too?
