1 1/2 cups cubed whole wheat bread
3 3/4 cups cubed white bread
1 lb. ground sausage
Turkey liver- Optional- cubed/ cooked
1 cup chopped onion
3/4 chopped celery
2 1/2 t. dried sage
1 1/2 t. dried rosemary
1/2 t. dried thyme
1 golden delicious apple, cored/ chopped
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup minced parsley
3/4 cup chicken broth
4 T. unsalted butter- melted
Turkey Liver- you may saute, chop, (optional)

Preheat oven to 350º. Spread white and wheat bread cubes on a large baking dish. Bake 5-7 minutes in the preheated oven- or until toasted. Transfer bread cubes into a large bowl. In a large skillet- cook sausage and onions until done- Add celery, sage, rosemary, thyme- stirring to blend flavors. Pour sausage mixture over bread crumbs. Mix in apples, cranberries, parsley, chicken stock, melted butter- mix lightly. You can cook the stuffing separately by pouring it into a pan- covering with foil and baking it at 350 degrees for the last 30-40 minutes of your turkey's cooking time. You may spoon the stuffing into turkey to loosely fill and then cook your turkey following the cooking time for the turkey.
