2/3 cup butter
1 1 lb. box brown sugar (generous 2 cups)
2 eggs
2 tbsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 small package chocolate chips and nuts to liking (I use pecans)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter (or margarine) in 9 X 13 pan, stir in brown sugar. cool. Stir in eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt. Mix well and stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Bake @ 375º for about 30 minutes. Cool before cutting.
