2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening, 1 T oleo
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp baking powder
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, put sugar, shortening, oleo, salt, & vanilla and cream until fluffy.
Add eggs, beat well.
Put soda in buttermilk and stir.
On waxed paper mix flour and baking powder.
Add soda and buttermilk to sugar mixture, stirring. Add dry ingredients and
mix thoroughly.
Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 400 till lightly browned.
