Ingredients:  
1/2 cup chopped onion, 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 lb ground beef(or beef and sweet sausage combined)
1 (28 oz) can tomatoes, chopped
1 t salt
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz) can tomato paste
1/4 t oregano, 1/4 t basil (both are dried)
2 T dried parsley
2 T Parmesan cheese

Parmesan cheese or Romano Cheese
1/2 lb Lasagna noodles
1/4 lb mozzarella or Swiss cheese
1/4 lb reduced fat cottage cheese or ricotta cheese

Directions:

In large pot, saute onion and garlic, until soft. Brown meat

Add salt, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chopped can of tomatoes, oregano,
basil, 2 T Parmesan cheese. Bring to boil, simmer 10 minutes. Transfer to
300º oven for 45 minutes. Remove from heat, add 2 T dried parsley, stir.
Cook lasagne noodles per directions on pkg. Drain, and blanch with cold
water.
In large baking dish, put 1/3 meat sauce, single layer of drained noodles.
Place length wise.
Layer cottage cheese(or Ricotta) over noodles, Layer Mozzarella (or Swiss),
and 2 T Parmesan cheese.
Repeat ending with sauce and Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 350 30 - 45 minutes

I use different cheeses at different times. There are Pkg. of 5 Italian cheeses
or 4 Italian cheeses that give a nice flavor. The amount of cheeses in the layering can very. I never measure them. I just use what fills out each layer.
