Cake:
2 sticks butter, softened
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. plain flour
4 eggs
Miniature marshmallows

Frosting:
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
4 tbsp. evaporated milk

Cake:
Mix all ingredients (except marshmallows) well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake in 350º oven for 20 - 25 minutes. When done, cover immediately with miniature marshmallows and let melt. Frost in pan and cut into squares.

Frosting:
Mix butter and cocoa; add sugar and milk alternately and mix until creamy.

Mary Jo Lynch was the pastor's wife at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cherokee in the mid-1960s.

I (Laurel) discovered a "fun thing" to do with this cake...try cooling the cake AFTER melting the marshmallows, then adding a layer of melted peanut butter (about 1 c.). Cool the cake completely (overnight or several hours), then frost.
