2 sticks margarine
1 1/4 c sugar
1 tsp light Karo syrup
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 c finely chopped pecans
2 3/4 c all purpose flour
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine with mixer. Add sugar, syrup, egg and vanilla and mix well. Sift in flour and baking soda and beat at med speed with mixer. Stir in nuts until blended. Divide dough into 3 parts and form into long rolls on wax paper. Roll tightly in waxed paper and twist on ends to seal. Chill dough or freeze for use later. Remove from freezer and slice 1/4 in thick slices and bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 min.
