1 - 1 1/2 lbs. beef round or sirloin steak, cut in cubes
2 c. beef bouillon thickening (made with 2 T. flour, moistened with cold water, to make thick paste)
1/4 - 1/2 c. white wine
1 medium can stems and pieces mushrooms, drained OR
1-1/2 c. fresh mushrooms
1/2 pint sour cream
8 oz. pkg. wide noodles
salt and pepper to taste

Brown beef cubes in very little fat. Remove meat, add bouillon to drippings, scraping pan. Add thickening and bring gradually to a boil, stirring constantly. Add meat to gravy and simmer about an hour. Add mushrooms and wine; bring to simmer again. Add sour cream; do not bring to simmer, just under simmer. Meanwhile, boil noodles, drain and butter them. Serve on warmed plates with beef and gravy over noodles.
