2 1/2 c. baking mix, such as Bisquick
4 T. cold butter (1/2 stick)
1 heaping c. grated cheddar cheese
3/4 c. cold whole milk
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Topping:
2 T. butter, melted
11/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 T. dried parsley flakes
pinch salt

Directions:

Heat oven to 400º. In a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or large fork, combine baking mix with cold butter. Do not overmix. There should be small chunks of butter about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk and garlic powder. Mix by hand until well combined. Again, do not overmix. Using an ice cream scoop, drop about 1/4 c. portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15-17 minutes or until tops begin to brown slightly. Melt the 2 T. butter in a small bowl in microwave. Stir in garlic powder, parsley flakes and salt. Use a brush to spread mixture over tops of biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven.
