1 qt. home-processed tomatoes or 1 lg. can crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp. baking soda (opt)
1 1/2 qt. milk
salt and pepper
seasonings, to taste (basil, oregano, thyme, garlic powder)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat tomatoes until hot. Add baking soda to your taste-some tomatoes are more acidic than others so the amount may need to be varied or omitted). Tomatoes will be foamy. Add milk and seasonings, salt and pepper.

Serve sprinkled with saltine crackers, for something different try crushed saltines.
