1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup mashed, ripe bananas
1/2 cup sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup nuts, walnuts or pecans (OPT)

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Mix well. Add bananas alternately with flour and other dry ingredients and sour milk. Mix well add nuts and vanilla
Grease bread pan, pour in mixture and bake 350º for 1 hour.

To make sour milk, measure out amount of milk you need then add at least one teaspoon vinegar to milk, this will turn it into sour milk. Adds so much flavor.
