1/2 lb. Gruyere cheese, shredded
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
2 T. cornstarch
1 clove of garlic
2 c. dry white wine
2 T. Kirsch
1 loaf crusty dense bread, cubed
Vegetables and tart apples (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy fondue dish, rub the bottom with garlic and discard.

Heat the wine in the dish over medium heat. Do not boil. As the bubbles start to rise, add the cheeses very slowly stirring constantly.

Add the cornstarch to the Kirsch and mix, then stir it into the cheese mixture.

Serve warm with cubed bread, vegetables, and apples.
