3 cups sugar
3 sticks butter
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Soften butter and mix thoroughly with sugar, Then add eggs one at a time and blend with the sugar and flour (sifted together) .Adding one cup of flour and a little milk and so on. Add vanilla and lemon juice mix thoroughly and pour into tube.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes in a greased and floured tube fan. As soon as the cake is done I flip it on over on a dish before it can settle in the pan.

I use 2 sticks of butter and 1 stick of margarine as a substitute for 3 sticks of butter.
Be careful not to over beat.
I always use fresh lemon juice.
